Understanding Eating One to One Course

Has trying to make healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle left you feeling frustrated, confused about what changes you should make and guilty for wanting to do the things you enjoy?

Making changes is rarely about just eating “healthy” foods and avoiding “unhealthy foods”. There are many reasons why we eat rather than simply hunger, and everyone is different so what works for one person might not work for another.

This 6-week series of one-to-one video sessions can help you to understand more about why we eat and give you the skills to work out what works for you.

It is suitable for people both with diabetes or another health condition that would benefit from healthy dietary changes, and those who would just like to find out a bit more about their eating habits and make healthy choices. I can support you if you would like to lose weight, gain weight or would like to concentrate on a more intuitive health at every size approach to improving your health without worrying about the scales.

This is a broad outline of what the sessions might cover. You are able to customise the course to suit what is important to you and what changes you would like to make and also the time between sessions.

Week one is a longer 90-minute session to give us plenty of time to look at your current diet and lifestyle, what your likes and dislikes are, any medical conditions and what you have tried in the past. I will work with you to decide what you would like to achieve from your sessions, and we will start to look at investigating what and why you eat.

In week two we look at what changes to diet and lifestyle bring the most benefits to health and how these might fit into your current diet and lifestyle. We also look at what affects how hungry you get and changes that can help reduce or improve your appetite depending upon your goals.

In week 3 we look at what influences what we eat. This might be your environment, the people around you and even your emotions. Understanding more about these things can help you to make successful changes.

In weeks 4 to 6 continue to provide you with support with the changes you have identified, including starting new healthy habits and how to manage setbacks when things might not go quite to plan.

If you have any questions about this please feel free to contact me or it can be booked online by clicking the button below. More information on my approach can be found in my blog pages.

If you do not want to commit to the full 6 sessions, you can book a single 90 minute appointment from my Book Now page to see if it is right for you.

Note on Video Consultations:  Some people feel concerned about video consultations as a means of communication, but it has a number of advantages. It is completely Covid safe and allows you to speak to an experienced dietitian from the comfort of your own home, without travel, at a time to suit you.

If you have not used this method before I can allow a little extra time for the first consultation to talk you through the process, and I have found that anyone with access to a computer or tablet quickly gets the hang of it. Download a quick guide to video consultations here, or feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
